CineMob respects your right to privacy. This Privacy Notice explains who we are, how we collect, share and use personal data about you and how you can exercise your privacy rights. This Privacy Notice only applies to personal data that we collect through our website at cinemob.com (“Website”), our official CineMob App (“App”) or the CineMob API (“API”) (together, the “Services”). CineMob (“CineMob,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a private, membership-based film community and event platform. CineMob enables registered members to discover films, express interest in specific titles, create and join member-initiated group screening events (“Mobs”), and engage with other members through film-related discussions and interactions.

​The CineMob platform facilitates coordination, communication, and participation around film experiences, both online and at in-person member gatherings where permitted. CineMob does not operate as a public ticketing service and does not provide open, public access to events.

The personal data we collect from you, either directly or indirectly, will depend on how you interact with us and with our Services. We collect personal data about you from the following different sources:

Information you provide directly
When you create an account or use CineMob’s community features, you may provide personal information including your identity and contact information, such as your name, email address, and phone number; your birthdate, which is used for age verification and to support age-appropriate experiences; account and profile information, including login credentials and any optional profile details you choose to add; and community content and activity, such as the mobs you create or join, movies you like, comments, reviews, messages, and other content you submit through the Service.

Information we collect automatically (indirectly)
When you use the Services, we may automatically collect certain information about your interactions and device, including app and website usage information such as the features you use, screens or pages visited, clicks or taps, time spent, and related interaction data; device and technical information such as your device type, operating system, app version, language settings, IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, and identifiers necessary to operate and secure the Services; and diagnostics and performance information, including crash logs, error reports, and performance metrics.

Location and contact information collected but not stored
In some cases, the Services may collect your device location and/or access your contacts only if you enable these permissions (for example, to help you find local events or connect with friends). We do not store your precise device location or your address book/contacts on CineMob servers. If used, this data is processed transiently (e.g., in-session) to provide the feature you requested.

Information from third parties
We receive certain information from third-party service providers that help us operate and improve the Services. This includes transaction-related information from Stripe, our payment processing provider, such as payment status and related metadata; CineMob does not receive or store full credit or debit card numbers. We also receive usage, event, and device or application diagnostic information from PostHog, which we use for product analytics and to understand how the Services are used. PostHog is configured by us to collect data in accordance with this Privacy Notice.

We use your personal data only for the purposes described below, or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection. Depending on where you live, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: contract, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligation.

Provide and operate the Services (Contract)
We process your personal data to create and administer your account, enable the core features of the Services—including joining and creating mobs, posting comments, and saving films—and to provide customer support, including responding to inquiries, requests, and support-related communications.

Facilitate payments and subscriptions (Contract / Legal obligation)
We process purchases, subscriptions, and other transactions through our payment service provider, Stripe, and receive transaction-related information necessary to complete and manage those payments. We also maintain records required for accounting, tax, regulatory, and compliance purposes in accordance with applicable laws.

Improve and protect the Services (Legitimate interests)
We use personal data to monitor and analyze the performance of the Services, debug issues, and understand usage trends in order to improve functionality and reliability. We also process information to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents, to enforce our terms and policies, and to protect our legal rights and the safety and integrity of the Services.

Personalize your experience (Legitimate interests / Consent where required)
We may use your activity on the Services—such as films you like or mobs you join—to personalize your experience by recommending relevant films, mobs, or features. Where enabled or required by law, we may also use approximate location information (such as city-level data derived from IP address) to display relevant or localized content.

Communications (Contract / Legitimate interests)
We use your contact information to send service-related communications, such as account verification messages, password resets, security notices, and important updates about the Services. We also process communications data to respond to support inquiries, administrative requests, and other messages you send to us.

Optional features requiring permissions (Consent)
If you enable device permissions (e.g., location/contacts), we use that data only to provide the feature you requested and, as noted above, we do not store precise location or contacts on our servers.

We share personal data with third-party service providers that help us operate, maintain, and improve the Services. These providers include Stripe for payment processing (as applicable), PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics, and hosting, database, security, and infrastructure providers necessary to operate and support the Services. These service providers are permitted to process personal data only on our behalf and solely for the purposes of providing services to us, and they are required to protect personal data in a manner consistent with this Privacy Notice and applicable law.

Legal and safety
We may disclose personal information where we believe such disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or lawful request, to protect the rights, safety, and security of CineMob, our users, or others, or to investigate, prevent, or address fraud, security incidents, or other harmful or unlawful activity.

To exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us at info@cinemob.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. When you request deletion of your personal data, we will delete or anonymize your information unless retention is required or permitted by law (for example, for accounting, fraud prevention, security, or legal compliance). Certain content you have shared with others (such as comments or event participation) may remain visible in anonymized form.

If we send marketing emails, you can opt out using the unsubscribe link in those messages. Service/transactional messages (like important account notices) may still be sent.

CineMob is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required where you live). If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
